Understanding Gratuity Benefits

Gratuity is a statutory benefit provided for service with the Company.

  • To be eligible for gratuity, a continuous 5-year service period is required.
  • The gratuity is payable only at the end of the engagement (relieving from the services) with the company, either by resignation or retirement.
  • Gratuity Calculation = (Last drawn basic salary + dearness allowance, if applicable) × (Number of completed years of service) × 15/26
  • In computing a completed year of service, the period in excess of six months shall be taken as a full year.
💡 Gratuity is only applicable for folks engaged with rtCamp India as Full Time Employees. 

Forfeiture of Gratuity: 🤔

The gratuity payable to an rtCamper can be wholly forfeited for the following reason mentioned:

  • If the service of an rtCamper has been terminated due to riotous or disorderly conduct or any act of violence on their part.
  • If the service of such rtCamper is terminated for any act which constitutes an offence involving moral turpitude, provided such offence is committed by them in the course of their employment. In order to forfeit the gratuity of an rtCamper, there must be a termination order containing charges as established to the effect that the employee was guilty of the aforesaid misconducts.

In cases where it has been held that in the absence of a termination order containing any of the above allegations, the gratuity of an rtCamper cannot be forfeited.
